About Me
Shin Falls photographing the Salmon Leaping
Ex-manager of a mountain sports store who realised there’s more to life than the 9 to 5
Obsessed with running & a love for the outdoors & photography.
After having radical prostatectomy due to prostate cancer, it’s taken a long time to get back running longer distances, the desire to be able to spend several hours out enjoying nature whilst running has certainly kept me going & I certainly view my time differently than I used to. Don’t put things off & try not to worry about things that aren’t really that important!
Now the running buyer for an outdoor store & freelance videographer & photographer. It’s never too late to change profession & do what you enjoy 🙂
Running history
-
‘I started running with my 40th birthday a few weeks off. The Grantown 10k was coming up, could I run 10k? I hadn’t ran since school, so a few weeks of training & a slow, hot, messy 10k accomplished, life had changed forever’
-
A few 10k’s later, then a 1/2 marathon or two & an incredibly poorly run 1st marathon (Edinburgh). Running kinda sucked, I really wasn’t cut out for this! So what do you do? I know lets start entering Ultras!
It took about 2/3 years before I actually started to enjoy running, then as time went on, the obsession grew.
